Trump-North Korea Meeting: Political Gamble of the 21st Century.

The US CIA Director, Mike Pompeo has yesterday defended President Donald Trump’s decision to meet North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, saying the president understands the risks.

 He said, “Trump isn’t doing this for theatre, he is going there to solve a problem,” the spy chief told Fox News Sunday. BBC reported.
Such a summit, which Pyongyang has long wanted, has previously been seen as possible only after major concessions from the North Koreans.
Recalled that North Korea has said in the past that it would consider giving up its nuclear weapons under the right conditions. Trump reportedly to have accepted the offer to meet the North Korea leader on the spot which was relayed by South Korean envoys on Thursday. However, critics have warned that if the talks go poorly, the two nations will be in a worse position than before, noting that attempts to negotiate aid-for-disarmament deals have failed repeatedly since 2003, when the North pulled out of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren while speaking to NBC, expressed her fears on what she called the “decimated” US State Department lacked officials familiar with Pyongyang’s methods. BBC reported.
“I want to see our president succeed, because if he succeeds, America succeeds. The world is safer, but I am very worried that they’re going to take advantage of him.” The Senator expressed her fears.
