President Uhuru Kenyatta is in Kisii for a 2 day tour

The Government released KSh358 million to the IDPs as compensation for loss of their homes and properties during 2007/8 post election violence.

President Uhuru Kenyatta is entering the second day in his two-day tour in Kisii as he attempts to woo the votes in that region. The President made a personal visit to Alfred Bosire and his wife in Kisii who are beneficiaries of a cash programme he launched.

With Mr and Mrs Alfred Bosire Matundura, beneficiaries of the “Inua Jamii” cash transfer programme at their home in Masimba, Kisii County,” read his Facebook post. Uhuru was given a warm welcome by the residents and promised the elderly above 70-years-old benefits from the KSh12 billion social welfare program from next year.

The President announced the government will released KSh358 million to the IDPs as compensation for the loss of their homes and properties in the 2007/8 post-election violence Uhuru also said a further KSh470 million would be given out to victims from Nyamira County.
