OLX Kenya Imposes KRA, National ID As Compulsory Requirement For Posting Classified Ads

The Africa’s larges online classified website OLX has imposes KRA as a compulsory requirement for posting classified ads on the platform.

In a telephone conversion with one of their staff Shalom Adhimbo in order to confirm an email sent to one of their client who made the claims. Adhiambo confirmed the email saying, “We required all our first timer users to visit our head office with their KRA Certified and National ID to verified their account before they use the platform.”

The confirmation came after a customer claimed he posted an advert on oxl Kenya and it was barn. In an attempt to confirm as to whether he breaks any rule on the platform, he sent an email to the customer care.

According to him, early morning the following day, he received a message from oxl Kenya which required that he go to their head office to varify his account.

We also asked the staff of oxl and here’s what she has to say, “You didn’t break any rule and no one reported your advert else that will have been the first thing we will send to you.”

Shalom Adhiambo confirmed that OXL Kenya now require all its new customers  to visit their head office with KRA and National ID for verification in order to enable them use the platform.
