Funding: Up to €10,000 in Grants for Climate CSOs

The Climate Communication Fund is now accepting applications to empower climate-focused civil society organizations (CSOs) globally. Many climate CSOs, constrained by small budgets, struggle to communicate their mission effectively, limiting their reach and impact. This fund seeks to address these challenges by providing resources to strengthen communication capabilities.

The program supports skill development in areas like strategic communication, content creation, storytelling, media relations, social media management, and visual design. Its goals include crafting customized communication strategies, creating social media assets, and promoting authentic, locally driven narratives to engage diverse audiences.

Eligibility Criteria:

The Climate Communication Fund welcomes proposals from climate CSOs and NGOs that:

  • Conduct on-the-ground activities
  • Have an annual turnover of up to 5 million USD/EUR
  • Are legally registered, based anywhere globally
  • Employ no more than 20 staff
  • Operate proficiently in English
  • Can dedicate 16 hours monthly to communication efforts

Ineligible Applicants:

  • Individuals, businesses, or unregistered entities
  • Organizations not engaged in practical activities
  • Non-English-speaking organizations

Benefits:

Grantees will receive a customized package, including:

  • Communication training, workshops, and coaching
  • Development of a tailored Communication Strategy & Plan
  • Social media and media kits
  • Storytelling audit (video, photo, social media)
  • Media outreach support (press, radio, digital, community)

All support is adapted to each grantee’s needs, guided by the Communication Foundation team.

Fund Goals:

The fund’s overarching aim is to enable organizations to create and scale impactful communication strategies that drive transformative change.

Specific Aims:

  • Enhance skills in strategic communication, storytelling, media, social media, and visuals
  • Collaboratively develop communication strategies
  • Build social media tools
  • Foster locally led storytelling

To apply, email info@communicationfoundation.org with the subject line “CCF – [Organization Name].” Attach a Word or PDF document (max 2 pages) including:

  • Country of operation
  • Overview of communication challenges, goals, and needs
  • Current communication strategy (or lack thereof)
  • Details of in-house communication staff
  • Proof of legal registration
  • List of staff (including non-communication roles) participating in capacity-building
  • Website and social media links
  • Contact information
